The Godzilla strain comes to us as a collective effort between Spain (a burgeoning European center of cannabis creation and culture), Canada, and The Netherlands. The breeders Caña de España created Godzilla from the potent genetics of the award-winning God Bud. Godzilla provides a fruity flavour profile alongside deep and long-lasting sedation. Cannabis testing lab Analytical 360 has measured its THC percentage at between 15% and 18%.
Appearance & Aroma
The buds are certainly Godzilla-sized. The buds are chunky and large and have the fluffy, almost ragged look of more Sativa-dominant types. The leaves are pale sea green and have many fuzzy orange pistils with milky white trichomes covering the nugs. Like its parent strain God Bud, many phenotypes of Godzilla also have lively streaks of purple hues within their leaves. These colours come about when pigments called anthocyanins in the strain’s genetics are agitated by cooler than average weather during the growing process.
Optimally cured flowers of Godzilla have a complex taste and aroma. At first, consumers may notice the tang of berry and diesel. On closer examination, there are also distinct tones of vanilla. Meanwhile, breaking apart or grinding up the flowers produces an earthy, skunky odour, likely due to the presence of Skunk #1 in Godzilla’s heredity. The smoke is remarkably smooth for an Indica of this quality and leaves a fruity taste upon exhale, with a faint ammonia aftertaste. Reputably, Godzilla has no discernible grape flavour even when its leaves appear purple; the colours that determine the plant’s appearance have no similar effect on its taste.
Effects & Benefits
The effects are gradual, slowly revealing themselves with an increasingly heavy feeling in the limbs and core. After several minutes, users may feel as if they’ve transcended any lingering stressors and their surroundings. Tense and tight muscles will loosen up. Logic and cognition, on the other hand, may take a backseat to a more dreamy and hazy mindset — Godzilla may not be the best choice for working your way through a complete to-do list. Many of the strain’s fans opt for the highest comfort when enjoying its heavy sedation. It is almost tailor-made for passive activities like watching trippy movies or listening to soft music. As the high carries on, Godzilla may be so effective at allowing relaxation that users may feel slightly disconnected from their bodies as their thoughts wander, and in large enough doses, the strain will lull users into a heavy sleep.
More nighttime than a morning smoke, this Hybrid is described as lasting longer than average, even for more seasoned smokers. Godzilla has several purposes for medical cannabis users as well. Its lengthy sedation can alleviate aches and pains, whether chronic due to conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, or incidental due to injury. The strain’s anti-inflammatory qualities can also take care of everyday discomforts like nausea, headaches, and migraines. As noted, in high enough doses, the Godzilla strain can even treat trenchant cases of insomnia. That said, because it tended to bring about a psychedelic mind-body separation, this strain may not be the most suitable option for users with low THC tolerance or who are prone to panic.
